I Blinked and The World Was Different

I try to plan my social media posts and marketing about three-four weeks out. On March 14th, I was planning a blog on what’s the best way to use your tax return. I was researching how applying your tax return to home improvements that improve your quality of life or add value to your home would be a wise use of your return. Now a lot of us effected by an unprecedented pandemic are hoping for more than our tax refund. Many of us are in need of emergency relief. Things we took for granted-going to work, going out to eat, visiting with our parents, going to the park- all seem to have gone poof in an instant. It just shows us how in what seems like overnight our world, our lives, and our reality can change. It underscores that disasters can come in all forms. All of us will need to re-evaluate what our disaster preparedness plan looks like going forward. It isn’t just a force of nature that can bring us to the brink.

Being in the Automatic Standby Power Business, Never Dark Power Solutions always admonishes people to think in terms of what your life would be like without power. I am sure you would agree that being forced to work at home, home school our children, or just self isolate feels like we have lost our power. It sounds even more foreboding if we were to have to deal with an actual power outage under these already difficult circumstances. Talk about feeling powerless! It’s not something to take lightly. We are heading into the spring severe storm season. In fact millions in the Midwest are now dealing with that threat. On top of dealing with a health crisis many are dealing with the aftermath of storms and tornadoes.

So it bears asking-are you prepared for severe weather? Do you have an emergency plan? Do you have an emergency kit? Have you stocked your refrigerator with the expectation of having to shelter in place two weeks? Have you thought about what you would do with that food if the power went out? What about having enough medication for an extended stay at home? If that medication needs to be refrigerated, are you prepared for a power outage. If you have a business considered as an essential infrastructure business, can you afford to be without power for any moment?

There are all sorts of worse case scenarios when we consider preparing for a natural disaster. As we can see, the worst case scenario can happen and happen quickly. Preparing ahead is not just a good idea. It may mean our lively hoods or our lives. Now more than ever is a good time to consider getting that back up power system by Generac from Never Dark Power Solutions. There are a lot of things we can’t control. Don’t let your power be one of them.
